Smorgasburg is the largest weekly open-air food market in America, attracting thousands of people to Brooklyn, Manhattan, Miami, Toronto, and Los Angeles each weekend to eat from dozens of local vendors. It launched in New York in 2011, as a spinoff of Brooklyn Flea (founded in 2008), and has since launched dozens of small businesses and attracted millions of visitors. The New York Times dubbed Smorgasburg “The Woodstock of Eating.”

In July 2023, Smorgasburg Toronto will be back for its second year. Starting on June 24, the market will be on the waterfront for 12 Saturdays (through Sept. 9), located at 7 Queens Quay East, at the foot of Yonge Street from 11am to 6pm.

Following the successful formula honed at its markets in New York, Los Angeles, and Miami, Smorgasburg Toronto features more than 50 vendors from across the city who represent its culinary diversity and burgeoning food and arts scene. Smorgasburg Toronto is free, open to all ages, and will feature a full outdoor bar with harbour views and seating.

The market is being produced by Collective Concerts, Toronto’s largest independent concert promoter and local event producer.

Over the last decade, Smorgasburg has become the leading launchpad for aspiring home cooks and budding chefs alike, with thousands of businesses starting out at the markets, which offer a low initial investment combined with immediate access to revenue from market sales. Smorgasburg is always free, open to all ages, and welcomes everyone from everywhere, providing visitors a true taste of their city.

The market is actively seeking new vendors of all levels of experience and background. A simple application can be found here
