EVENT SPECIFIC REQUIREMENTS

World Trade Center

Fridays

This requirement is only for people selling on Fridays at the World Trade Center.

1. FOOD SAFETY QUESTIONNAIRE
You must complete the linked PDF. Please type a response to each of the sections outlined in pink and return. Please use full sentences when filling out the form.
*Return three weeks before your start date for review.

2. HOLD HARMLESS AGREEMENT
This needs to be signed and both pages returned as one document. If you send just the signature page back we’ll just have to ask you to do it again. Please return the full document.
*Return three weeks before your start date for review.

3. ADDITIONAL INSURANCE REQUIRMENTS
See the linked sample COI that you should replicate as closely as you can via your insurance broker or agent. Please send the sample to them. The certificate(s) would need to include/show your automobile insurance (with the additional insureds included) and workers compensation coverage. It needs to also include any specific checkboxes and text included in the sample, so please send the sample directly to your broker or agent and ask them to copy it.
*Return three weeks before your start date for review.

Notes: We do not need separate COIs for all the listed additional insured, but we do need the names added as in p.2 of the sample cert.
You do need proof of auto insurance, and you do need a workers compensation policy if you have anybody working in your booth who is not an official owner of the company. Please talk to your insurance agents.

Prospect PArk

Sunday

We need two additional separate COIs showing two entities as additional insureds on your policy required by the NYC Parks Department. See the two sample documents for you to send to your insurance broker or agent to replicate.

Jersey City

Saturday

The Health Department works in conjunction with the Department of Cultural Affairs to issue food licenses.  There is a $25 per event fee for a special event food license.  Most vendors choose to collect permits monthly in-person in Jersey City.

To apply for the permit, you must fill out and send us the Special Events Food Vendor Form first.   Once we receive this document it will be submitted to JCDOH on your behalf. This information will take 48 hours to process, after which you can apply with Jersey City.

Next, you must email Robin Pinkowitz (PinkowitzR@jcnj.org) for an appointment to apply for your permit.  Fill out the attached Application for a Temporary Food Vendor and bring it to your appointment. Use your business name connected to your business including DBA if applicable.

Be sure to reference the checklist below. It is a breakdown of all the required documentation that you must bring to your appointment to apply for the permit.

If you already own a Jersey City-based business license for food that is not expired please email a copy to booking@smorgasburg.com so we can pass it on to the Health Department for approval.
